This week's assult on the Capitol will give the Democrats – who now have  complete control of the US government – "justification" to implement the revolutionary dogma of the thugs that torched America's cities last year.

[...]The day before his supporters stormed the Capitol, Georgia elected two new Democratic senators. Those elections mean that beginning January 20, the Democrats will control all three elected bodies in Washington. And so, at least until the 2022 Congressional elections, Democrats will be able to do whatever they wish and Republicans won't be able to stop them.

Shortly after the vote count in Georgia made clear that Democrats had won control of the upper chamber, Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced that the Democrats will "study and look at," eliminating the filibuster – the Senate rule that requires super-majorities for passing laws. The filibuster blocks radical policy shifts by requiring the majority party to convince at least some members of the minority party to sign on to their bills before they become law. Abrogating the filibuster is a precondition for Democrats to pass a series of radical measures that taken together will change the face of America.Among other things, the steps include giving statehood to Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. By adding four new senators from these territories, the Democrats will effectively ensure their continued control the Senate indefinitely.The Democrats also intend to increase the number of Supreme Court justices from nine to fifteen, which will enable them to pack the court with progressive jurists guaranteeing a progressive majority for at least the next generation.The Democrats intend to nationalize healthcare in the US.They intend to pass the so-called Green New Deal, a package of legislation regarding energy and pollution conceived by activists in the extreme margins of the party. The package will cost US taxpayers in excess of $10 trillion and destroy America's fossil fuels industries.House Democrats approved a rule this week that will enable the appropriation by simply majority of massive sums not covered by the US Treasury for environmental and health programs.

• First, and most important, this was an unprecedented election in the reliance of mail-in voting and the use of new voting systems and procedures. We need to review how that worked down to the smallest precincts and hamlets.
• Second, possibly tens of millions of voters believe that this election was rigged and stolen. I am not one of them. However, the integrity of our elections depends on the faith of the electorate.
• Roughly 40% of that electorate have lingering doubts about whether their votes actually matter. Most of the cases challenging the election were not decided on the merits. Indeed, it seems they haven’t even been allowed for discovery. Instead, they were largely dismissed on jurisdictional or standing groups or under the “laches” doctrine that they were brought too late. Those allegations need to be conclusively proven or disproven in the interests of the country.
• Third, there were problems. There was not proof of systemic fraud or irregularities, but there were problems of uncounted votes, loss of key custodial information and key differences in the rules governing voting and tabulations.

I agree that the mob at the Capitol is wrong but disagree with who has instigated this criminal response. Several weeks ago I predicted that the public peace was in jeopardy as the evidence of electoral irregularities was denied a substantial review by procedural dismissal, which denied Americans due process.I expected today that the joint congressional session would act according to the Constitution to grant that substantial review. The mob prevented that from occurring and their collaborators were those who dismissed any substantive review of the evidence...the governors, judges, media, et al.I know that Nick dismisses claims of voting irregularities; however, claims that observers were denied access and that signatures were not verified are substantial claims to be assessed as they violate the integrity of the election as a whole. Opponents of Trump argue that there is no evidence; so it shouldn't take long to review with the benefit of keeping the peace. I can accept Biden being president, but I object to denying a review of the evidence for claims that the fraud controls of the election had been corrupted.Months ago the Michigan Capitol had been overrun by citizens abused by arbitrary and capricious COVID lockdown regulations; today's violence at the US Capital is akin response to a breakdown in due process.[...] I'll add that also several weeks ago that I was calling for peace and to step back from political violence. My point being that today's violence was likely to happen at some time in some fashion. Too many people have been blinded by the thought of "Orange-Man bad" while disrespecting those he represents and the consequences of denying them due process."
